Dr. Sam Clemmons

Sam is an Alabama born physician who worked 25 years clinically in a primary care and emergency medicine setting in rural Tennessee. He was founder and CEO of an Emergency Medicine staffing company for 15 years.  With steady growth and expansion, He led the company thru a merger, becoming a co-founder of a national, Nashville-based Emergency Medicine/Hospitalist management company, American Physician Partners. Through his efforts in Business Development at American Physician Partners, Sam was responsible for 750 million in revenues. He pioneered Business Development for the company which resulted in expansion from 14 to 160 contracts across 18 states in 4 years. By working as a physician and a healthcare executive, Sam has gained valuable insight over the years into system workflows and the patient experience from the grass roots level. He has served as Emergency Department Medical Director in multiple facilities, as well as a variety of leadership roles within the healthcare community. He is focusing currently on developing vertical lines of business in the value-based care space. Sam has a passion for improving access to health care and medicine thru process improvement efforts.
